The Richmond Highway corridor in Fairfax County could get an additional voter satellite office if approved by the Board of Supervisors. On Tuesday, the Board of Supervisors authorized a public hearing to consider the South County Government Center at 8350 Richmond Highway, Alexandria as a voter satellite office for in-person early voting. Students at Alexandria City Public Schools in Virginia will be sitting 3 feet closer to each other in classrooms after the school board reversed the superintendent’s previous decision of staying 6 feet apart. Superintendent Gregory Hutchings sent a message to families earlier this week that students will remain 6 feet apart, despite the CDC’s advice to reduce the space to 3 feet. Members of the Departmental Progressive Club held a food and gift card drive on Feb. 20 to collect non-perishable items for local families.
